General Operator's Certificate for GMDSS

The GOC (GMDSS) 1.25 Training is a program aimed at equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for the safe, efficient, and correct use of radio systems on ships and maritime vessels within the scope of GMDSS. This course enhances participants’ professional competence in accordance with the STCW-78/95 convention and relevant national regulations through theoretical knowledge, practical training, simulator exercises, and real device usage.

Who Can Participate?

Our program is open to anyone who wants to work in the maritime sector or pursue a career in this field. To participate in the program, a minimum of primary school or middle school graduation is required. Radio operators who will work on ships, maritime personnel involved in maritime communication, and all candidates aiming to specialize in maritime safety can join.

To Train Certified Radio Operators

At the end of the training, certified radio operators who are qualified to work on ships and maritime vessels will be trained.

Ensure Safe Maritime Communication

Ensure that ships are equipped for seaworthiness and that the communication standards required by global maritime hazard systems are fully met.

Develop Practical Skills

Ensure participants transform their theoretical knowledge into practice, enabling them to use radio stations effectively and accurately.

Instill Communication Ethics and Standards

Teach the application of international communication protocols and ethical rules in communication between ships and shore stations.

Training Duration

Training Program

Weekly Duration: 6 hours per day, 5 days a week, totaling 30 hours per week.

Total Duration: 120 hours over 4 weeks.

Theoretical Training: 70 hours Practical Training: 50 hours (using GMDSS communication simulators, licensed real devices, or GMDSS-equipped training vessels)

Evaluation and Certification

At the end of the training, a comprehensive exam will be conducted to assess the participants’ knowledge and skills.

Types of Exams: Theoretical and practical exams

Evaluation Criteria: The grading system, in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of National Education, will be used for assessment (0-44: Fail, 45-69: Average, 70-84: Good, 85-100: Excellent).

Successful candidates will be awarded the GMDSS General Radio Operator Competency Certificate.
