High Voltage (Above 1000 Volts) Training Course

The safe and effective use of high-voltage electrical systems in maritime operations is crucial for the sustainability of ship operations. The High Voltage (Above 1000 Volts) Training Course is organized in accordance with STCW 78 Convention Rule III/1, III/2, Code A-III/1, and A-III/2 and has been prepared in line with IMO Model Course standards. This course is designed to ensure that seafarers working with high-voltage systems gain a thorough understanding of safety procedures and can safely manage the maintenance, repair, and operation processes of high-voltage systems.

“Who Can Participate?”

This course is mandatory under the Seafarers’ Training Courses Regulation and is aimed at seafarers who work with or are required to work with high-voltage systems:

  • Chief engineers and senior engineers,
  • Engine officers and watch engineers,
  • Electrotechnical officers,
  • Seafarers who wish to acquire technical knowledge related to ship electrical systems.

Main Objectives of the Training Program

The goal of this course is for participants to gain the following competencies:

  • Recognize and safely operate high-voltage systems (above 1000 volts),
  • Understand the functions and management of high-voltage systems in ship operations,
  • Analyze the risks associated with high-voltage systems and apply the necessary safety procedures,
  • Gain knowledge in fault detection and emergency management in high-voltage systems,
  • Manage insulation, maintenance, and testing processes in high-voltage systems

training duration

High Voltage Course Duration
