Basic Training for Cargo Operations on Liquefied Gas Tankers

Basic Training for Cargo Operations on Liquefied Gas Tankers

The safe and internationally compliant execution of cargo operations on liquefied gas tankers is crucial for the safety of vessel operations. The Basic Training for Cargo Operations on Liquefied Gas Tankers is conducted in accordance with STCW 78 Convention, Regulation V/1-2, Code A-V/1-2, and Table A-V/1-2-1, and is based on IMO Model Course 1.06 and 1.10. This course is designed for seafarers who aim to learn the fundamental principles of cargo operations and ensure safe working practices on tankers.

Liquefied gas tankers are specialized vessels that transport LNG and LPG under low temperatures or high pressure. This course covers loading, unloading, tank cleaning, safety procedures, and emergency response. Participants will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to understand the physical and chemical properties of liquefied gases, identify operational risks, and manage cargo operations in compliance with international regulations.

Who Can Participate?

This course is conducted in accordance with the Seafarers’ Regulation and is mandatory for the following individuals:

  • Officers and crew members who will work on liquefied gas tankers,
  • Personnel involved in loading, unloading, and operational processes on gas tankers,
  • Those required to obtain a Basic Training Certificate for Cargo Operations on Liquefied Gas Tankers under STCW and international regulations.

The Main Objectives of the Training Program

The main objective of this course is to equip trainees with the following competencies:
